“In a short story, you only have time to develop one central idea. What will it be?”

This was the prompt presented to Mr. Cantrell’s AP Literature class. The goal of this project was to create a short story – a Hero’s Journey – that, through fictitious characters, reflects a deeper theme that pertains to life and important aspects of living it well. Here are just a few of the many projects that blossomed behind the door of room 1026.

  • Emmaline Voorheis: "A note from Fear"
  • Emily Mowery: "Courier"
  • Raegan Lomanto: "Not a cancer story"
  • Kaelynn Stolz: Fiore
  • Spencer Anderson: The mountains we climb
  • Senioritis Explained
  • Hero's Journey
  • Natalie Cole: "Freedom"
