On Saturday, March 18, the PRHS girls swim team traveled to Arroyo Grande to compete in their Frosh/Soph invitational. They set four meet records, qualified for CIF with five new times, and placed first in eight out of 11 events.

Freshman Tatiana Smeltzer and sophomore Emily Christian tied for first place in the 50 Breaststroke, while freshman Sarah Clark took top honors in the 50 Butterfly. Sophomore Mackenzie Raymond won first in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle, finishing with a CIF consideration time of 2:00.10 in the 200.

Freshman Audrey Hughes earned CIF consideration times in her 50 and 100 Freestyle with a 25.27 in the 50 and a 54.47 in the 100. Not only did Hughes place first, but she beat the meet record in both events that had previously been held by Hannah Parson, an Arroyo Grande swimmer, who finished her 50 in 26.02 and her 100 in 56.15 back in 2015.

Freshman Gabriella Clayton, Clark, Raymond, and Hughes also broke the previously set meet record of 1:48.06 in the 200 Free relay with a CIF consideration time of 1:45.93. Clayton, Christian, Raymond, and Hughes also set a meet record of 3:48.83 in the 400 Free relay, beating the previous record held by Arroyo Grande since 2010 of 3:51.46 and earning yet another CIF consideration time.
