Berti breaks record, again

Senior Trad Berti breaks the school record for 1600m race with a 4:16:36 after previously setting the record with a 4:17:61 time.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen the Bearcats hosted the Arroyo Grande Eagles in a dual meet on Wednesday, Mar. 8, Berti first broke his school record in the 1600m with a 4:16.36 after his 4:17.61 and then proceeded to win the men’s 800m (2:02.08).

In the same track meet, senior Jacob Franklin won Varsity Men’s Shot Put, throwing 51’11. Franklin received second place with Discus, throwing 148’1.

Senior Luis Armendariz won the 3200m in 10:25.43.

Junior Javier Solis won the Varsity Men’s 200m (23.3) and the 400m (51.39)

Solis was also on the winning Varsity Men’s 4x100m relay (45.60) along with sophomores Kaden Gallant and Jordan Summers and junior Dante Coletta.

Junior Cade England won the Varsity Men’s Triple Jump going 40-07.00.

Senior Madison Mitchell won Varsity Women’s 100m (16.16) and 300m(46.1) Hurdle events. Mitchell also ran on both of the winning 4×100 and 4x400m relays.

Senior Kiara Mabien won the Varsity Women’s 200 (27.00)and 400m (1:01.66) and was on both winning 4×100 and 4x400m relays.

The winning 4x100m (51.52) relay team included Mitchell, Mabien, and sophomores Kayla McDonald and Madison Wineman.

The winning 4x400m (4:14.94) relay team included Mitchell, Mabien, Wineman, and sophomore Kendall Caruana.

Senior Codie Wilshusen won Varsity Women’s Pole Vault (10-06.00) and placed second in High Jump (4-08.00).
